Where do you go when there is no satisfying conclusion? Recovery is a photographic response to two women’s IVF journeys. Photo artists Alison Shirley and Michelle Dunn use their subject matter to explore hope and hopelessness, and life and death, resulting in a collection of hauntingly beautiful images and text that will move and challenge viewers to consider the fragility and transience of existence.
Michelle Dunn is the founder of MDP Photography and Video. She works commercially in both the still and moving image for clients across Australia as well as creative artists. Through her company With Camera In Hand, she also shares her knowledge via workshops and short courses.
Alison Shirley completed a Bachelor of Arts in Photography and Contemporary Dance at Deakin University in 1995, followed by certificates in advanced anatomy and photography. Her photographic work now focuses on themes of human form and movement, as well intimate images of the natural world, abstracted by a macro lens.
